TREATMENT THAT IS BUILT FOR YOU
At Synergy Recovery Network, we only use the best and most effective integrated treatment methods, and each treatment plan is designed specifically to meet your needs.INTEGRATED TREATMENT
In order to effectively treat each individual, holistically, SRN utilizes the integrated treatment model in all of its program offerings. To do this, we pair clinical and psychological mental health treatment with our substance abuse treatment programs. This allows each client to get to discover the root of their addiction, heal that broken space and therefore experience sustained sobriety. The integrated treatment model is a proven methodology that has been studied in at least 11 federally funded research studies. This research has proven that implementation of this model improves sobriety outcomes post-treatment as compared to the national average of traditional programs.
The National Institute on Drug Abuse has identified a core list of principles that promote effective substance abuse treatment. Our program will incorporate the following of these principles:
No single treatment is right for everyone
Effective treatment addresses all of the patient’s needs, not just his/her substance use.
Remaining in treatment long enough to obtain results is critical to success.
Counseling and other behavioral therapies are the most commonly used forms of treatment.
Mediations are often an important part of treatment, especially when combined with behavioral therapy.
Treatment must be reviewed and modified often to adjust to the client’s changing needs over a period of time.
Treatment should address the possibility of other mental disorders.

1What are Co-Occurring Disorders?
Synergy fully understands that many times addiction disorders are accompanied by mental health disorders or chemical imbalances in the brain. Due to this, we understand that we may need to treat both conditions in order for an individual to sustain their recovery lifestyle upon leaving our residences. Understanding this is at the core of our Integrated Treatment approach to recovery. Every service offering, program, meeting and class will be centered around addressing the clinical and psychological aspects of an individual’s recovery plan so that true healing can occur and be sustained.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) defines co-occurring disorders as any time a person has “at least one mental disorder as well as an alcohol or drug use disorder,” and each “can be diagnosed independently of the other.” They further explain that these disorders do not appear in any specific way together and each disorder can range in its severity, being either mild or severe or both being severe with one being more severe than the other.
The most common psychiatric disorders that appear when a person has co-occurring disorders include:
Anxiety and mood disorders
Bipolar disorder
Borderline personality disorder
Major depression
Post-traumatic stress disorder
Schizophrenia

1What the research tells us about integrated treatment?
- SAMHSA’s National Survey on Drug Use and Health estimates that about 8.4 million adults were living with co-occurring disorders in 2012.
- More than 50% of those who abuse drugs are believed to all have at least 1 other mental health disorder even if they have not yet been diagnosed or treated.
- More than 35% of those who abuse alcohol have at least one mental illness.
- Almost one third of all individuals who have a mental illness also have a substance abuse problem.
- Research has found that over 20% of those currently residing in the United States prison system could be classified has having a dual diagnosis.
- Dual diagnosis patients are at a high risk for suicide. Studies have found that those with co-occurring disorders commit suicide at a rate much higher than those with just an addiction or mental illness alone.
The following is a list of substances that are often abused by individuals with co-occurring disorders:
Alcohol
Hallucinogens
Marijuana
Nicotine
Opiates
Sedatives
Stimulants

1What are the benefits of Integrated Treatment?
Treating both the addiction and any mental health issues at the same time is often effective for co-occurring disorders because of the ways that these conditions interact with each other. If one disorder is left untreated, it can worsen and negatively affect any progress made to treat the other disorder. Additionally, the two conditions may be related to each other in complex ways, so treating them simultaneously offers the person the best opportunity to address these relationships and figure out how best to manage both disorders on a daily basis.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Who We Treat
Synergy Recovery Network is able to accept any adult aged 18 and older into our programs. Our thoughtful and caring admissions coordinators will help you find the best program based on your clinical and personal needs. If we don’t have a program that suits your needs within our network, we will help you find a program that you can trust.1Adults
The integrated treatment model at SRN addresses mental health, addiction, substance abuse and trauma. Using an individualized treatment plan that incorporates counseling, group therapies, clinical services, recreational therapy and goal setting, adults in our residences gain the tools necessary to guide their individual path to long-term recovery.
2Young Adults
There are often significant life changes and specialized needs of an 18-25 year old and it requires age-specific treatment to heal. We aim to meet the needs of this specific age group to assist them in navigating life. We provide comprehensive treatment for a range of addiction disorders that are often produced by trauma experienced by this impressionable group of individuals.
3Families
We don’t always get to choose our family. Yet, sometimes we do. Family is an essential component of an individual’s recovery program. Therapy programs are offered for the families of loved ones living in our homes. Therapy provides a safe environment for open discussion with our trained counselors. Services might include individual sessions, workshops, education on the disease of addiction and opportunities to address your questions and concerns.
Services Offered
As a resident in one of our Structured Sober Living Homes, you will participate in an intensive program designed to address the root of the addiction, do the work required to heal, and further promote a long-term lifestyle of recovery after your stay. Every one of our services will incorporate a trauma-focused approach to continually reinforce healing throughout your journey while living in one of our residences.

THE CONTINUUM OF CARE FOR ADDICTION
Each stage in the continuum of care serves as a benefit to the individual who is working toward recovery. However, each stage may not be required for you to accomplish your individual goals with abundant success. Our main goal is to meet you where you are within the stages of the continuum of care cycle and build on your progress in the current moment to help you sustain recovery. The continuum of care works in tandem to help you find a path toward long-term recovery. It also serves as a map of the levels of care you are able to receive. What are the steps in the continuum of care?
1Intervention
There are some that are able to make the decision to get treatment on their own. Others, however, will need an intervention to realize they are in need of assistance. An intervention is a structured plan conducted by professionals that are able to speak to the complexities of an individual in varying stages of addiction or mental illness. It is not as simple as telling someone you love to get help! Intervention assistance is available from professionals who are trained in conducting interventions and teaching others how to conduct interventions.
2Detox & Stabilization
Withdrawal is the most physically dangerous part of recovery, and medical detox is a treatment that is handled in a controlled and supervised environment that allows your body to rid itself of the substance. Medical detox can be a life-saving way to rid your body of the drugs or alcohol and take your first steps to a clean and sober life.
Medical detox is not a service that SRN currently offers. However, we partner with many local facilities where it is safest to be admitted into a short-term inpatient stay to receive this service. We will gladly assist you or your family members with making these referrals and working with the facility to move you into one of our residences upon completion of a detox program.
3Treatment
Treatment can occur in various settings. Some require a longer inpatient treatment program from a residential facility. Others may require partial hospitalization where you may stay at the facility for 6-8 hours daily but will not stay overnight. Still due to the restrictions that residential and partial hospitalization programs include, others may only be able to participate in an intensive outpatient treatment program.
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or outpatient facility differs from residential and partial hospitalization in that you do not stay there for more than a few hours while receiving treatment. These facilities offer classes, therapies, and other drug, alcohol, and mental health-related services for those who are exploring a life in recovery, hoping to maintain a life in recovery, or are unable to commit to an extended residential treatment or partial hospitalization program.
All SRN residents will be offered an intensive outpatient treatment (IOT) program during their stay. Once you have moved into one of our homes as a resident, you will remain on site to receive all of the services recommended in your recovery plan.
4Sober Living
Because residential rehab is not a requirement in our Continuum of Care cycle, sober living and treatment are often happening concurrently. Sober living at SRN is a structured program that helps you adjust to living in recovery. Here, our team and your peers in recovery will assist you in relearning healthy behaviors, establishing clear boundaries in your relationship with others and prepare you to elevate to the next levels of your recovery lifestyle. If you are new to recovery, our model may assign you to a residence with other individuals who are just starting their recovery journey as well while learning the expectations of living in an SRN residence and getting used to the environment. A sober living home provides a safe and clean environment with others who share in understanding your experiences. Here, you will maintain access to medical professionals and therapies that you need on your continued journey.
5Support & Continuing Care
In this phase of the continuum, we are connecting you with resources, classes and additional clinical services to assist you as you sustain recovery after SRN. The post-treatment plan serves as your roadmap to maintain your sobriety and help you stay in recovery after completing your treatment programs. You will also be welcomed to participate in our SRN Alumni programs where you will attend alumni events and meetings, talk about your experiences with others in recovery, or even mentor another person in recovery. One of the best ways to stay sober is to stay involved and help others through fellowship.
