Common Questions from Those Seeking Treatment for Loved Ones

1How do you convince someone to seek help?
We know this question ultimately comes from a place of love, which makes us wish we had a perfect equation for getting someone into treatment. Deciding to get help is a deeply personal decision, which we know may be a scary realization for you – their loved one. While you cannot will your loved one into treatment, you can support them if they decide to go on their own. In the meantime, our team can answer the questions you may have about your loved one getting help. Also feel free to check out the available resources on this site to find more information.
2Will I be able to stay in contact with my loved one while in treatment?
Absolutely. We encourage maintaining relationships with supportive individuals in the resident’s extended network to further promote recovery. However, residents will not be allowed to make or accept phone calls during treatment times or skill development classes. Residents are allowed to have visitors during specified times and are also allowed to leave the residence for leisure during specified times. For your loved one’s sake and to aid in their recovery process, we ask that you respect the boundaries that are established for visiting times and resident curfews. Upon admission, your loved one will be able to provide you with an emergency contact phone number that you can call in the event of a true emergency that warrants interrupting a class, meeting or clinical session.
3My family has been affected by our loved one’s addiction, is there help for us?
Addiction causes pain on so many levels. Family – whether they are related or chosen – are the people closest to the situation and often affected the most by a loved one’s substance use. Family and Couples therapy will be offered for residents of the program. We also have a strong knowledge-base of resources for your family so you can get the help you’re looking for. Either way, yes. There is help for everyone affected by addiction.

Common Questions from Referring Professionals

1Why should I refer my patient to SRN?
SRN focuses on integrated treatment programs for co-occurring addiction and mental health concerns. Our program combines evidence-based addiction treatment with innovative therapies for mental health. We also recognize the impact that trauma has on one’s mental health and history with addiction. By incorporating methods that addresses individual traumas, we are able to individualize treatment plans as it relates to a resident’s personal life experiences. We prioritize social and life skills development as well as health, wellness and holistic approaches to long-term sobriety. Our emphasis on education — teaching patients about their diagnoses — is another element that sets us apart from others in the industry.
2Do you track outcomes? How are they used?
Yes. We continually collect data from every resident and patient that experiences our programs. Following the data over extended periods of time allows us to make adjustments to our program offerings and improve our model effectively. The data that is collected enables our team to determine not only the immediate impact of treatment, but also the sustainability of results post-treatment. SRN focuses on providing valid and reliable research outcomes that exceed SAMHSA standards of data collection.
3Will I be able to obtain information about my patient?
We hope to have the opportunity to work with you. One of the elements of our program that we enjoy most is promoting continuity of care among an individual’s care team. However, each patient is afforded the right to choose if they wish to share their information and whom they wish to share that information with. Without this form on file, SRN will not be able to release any treatment information on an individual without a court order.

If you have an individual that you believe fits are admission criteria, please send an email to [email protected] or call us at 317-762-0111.
